I had the coolest weekend with a couple friends that came to stay with me. I had a human friend named Erika, who helped wrangle all the dogs with mom. My buddy Reilly the Bouvier was around and so was Ginger the goldendoodle.
Everybody showed up on friday..Halloween, after Mom and I went to do some work. Mom wanted to do some “distraction” work at a local shopping center. Best part was I got to carry around my fake arm and mom got to make funny jokes to people passing by. Yep she used the line “need a hand” numerous times and managed to crack herself up each time as well.
Having Reilly and Ginger here was a blast because we all get along well and play together really well. I also think it helped that both Mom and Erika were supervising our playtime and made sure none of us got out of hand…like Pepper. I didn’t like it when Reilly stole my ball but it usually ended up in a great game of chase and he would forget it was in his drooly mouth and drop it!
Ginger stuck around for an extra night so we could wrestle and play some before her lesson on Monday. She was able to run around the house with Pepper and I. She was scooting under chairs for sneak attacks on me and succeeded in bumping me off the bed and stealing the toys….
Socialization with dog friends is important, and can be a lot of fun. However I hate dog parks and places where groups of unknown dogs congregate. I don’t feel very safe all the time. I like to know that the dogs have some manners and that the owners know how to read their dogs and are moving around (like at That’s My Dog! Inc for E-collarpalooza!)
I need to go catch up on some sleep, not only did we have visitors all weekend, but I had to work all weekend as well.
Sounds like you had a fun weekend, Leinie. It’s cool you can have sleepover’s with your buddies. You mom is always cracking herself up, isn’t she?
Hey! A shoutout! I had a lot of fun herding dogs last weekend! 🙂
