Dear Santa,

We have had an exciting 2012. Frappy and I were busy helping Mom out with the family business, Follow Me Dog Training LLC. We traveled to Ohio, Indiana and to Georgia. We met a lot of new friends and had some good times. Mom said that I did a great job staying on the “NICE” list but she wasn’t so sure about Frappy (something to do with a certain squirrel incident and her and Roger the Rhodesian Ridge Back knocking her down and twisting her ankle.) So I leave that decision up to you. Grandma and Grandpa, in MD, adopted a new dog a couple weeks ago. Her name is Callie. Frappy and I are getting to know her, so we decided to include her in on this letter to you and she mentioned that the Martini we are leaving for you on Christmas eve is from her.

I have everything I could ever need, but the three of us wanted to get a letter out to you so here are our Christmas wishes:

  • We have a few human friends that are spending their time in Afghanistan and other places far far away fighting for and supporting our country. We also found out one of my close friends is being deployed again in August. With this in mind, we Wish that all our men, women and Military War Dogs that are supporting the USA on foreign soil be safe and courageous this holiday season and until they can come home.
  • We wish for the ending of breed specific legislation, spay/neuter laws, and dangerous dog laws that are poorly written and are not helping.
  • We wish all the new puppies and rescued dogs that find their homes over the holidays will explain to their owners the importance of training and exercise. (do you need some of Mom’s business cards to drop off at those homes?)
  • We wish that they would outlaw those flexi/retractable leashes…those things are dangerous for us dogs and our owners.
  • We wish for an end to dog fighting through legislation that makes sense…blame the deed not the breed!
  • We wish that when we wake up Christmas morning the room will be filled with Tennis balls, Cuz balls, Discs, Kong balls, tugs and warm beds.

Frappy wanted me to put in something about squirrels, but it wasn’t a very pretty wish, and I think it really would put her on the “Naughty list”

Frappy an I also wanted to remind you that we aren’t at our RVA home so, feel free to go there…mom always keeps the fridge full of beer and I know she didn’t finish off some brownies before we left. Thanks for everything Santa! Have a safe trip, the Leinie’s (and Martinit) will be waiting for you and I promise not to bark when you come down the chimney!

Love from your favorite Malinois, and those other two 😉

I like to sit with my mom while she enjoys a nice cold beer and watches Soccer…Football is not really my game. But the Super Bowl was tonight..congrats to the Giants for a last minute win! I think mom was just watching for the commercials and I am glad she was because there were some awesome commercials this year. If you want to see all the ones that focused on dogs, go to the Follow Me Dog Training LLC blog.

I wan to give honorable mention to Bud Light for their commercial this year! They deserve an award for the cool rescue dog Wego! Even though I call myself a beer dog and do a pretty good job getting beers for my mom when needed..this dog is just awesome!!!

The put out a teaser first and then the commercial..both masterpieces…I told Mom she needs to go get a Bud Light next time she is out and support great commercials like this one.

Cheers everyone!

Renée, Frappy and I were wrapping Christmas gifts for our nieces and nephew today. I found this awesome book that we are giving to my oldest niece. As we were were wrapping it up, mom took a few minutes to read it again and I think it is now officially one of my favorite books.

Dubs Goes To Washington And Discovers the Greatness of America… by Dick Morris, Eileen McGann and Clayton J. Liotta

This book is about a Golden Retriever named Dubs who travels to Washington D.C. It is a tragic tale wherein he looses his ball….only a Golden Retriever would loose a ball for so long.  Any good Malinois like myself would hold onto it with dear life giving it only to those that would throw it for them at least a dozen times…

In searching for his ball he visits a bunch of historic landmarks and monuments in Washington D.C. It makes a great gift for everyone in my opinion.

Mom says we should write a book about Frappy and Leinie in Richmond VA… Although I kind of already do this with our challenge over at Follow Me Dog Training LLC called Where’s Leinie?

If you are looking for a last minute gift, check out this book. I give it four paws up!

I know I have made it very clear that really anything from the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewery is the best, but sometimes it is important to support your local brewery!

Legend Brewing Co. has been a part of Richmond Virginia for 17 years now. They have a cool restaurant and pub attached to the brewery and when it is warm enough for sitting outside, dogs can sit on the other side of the patio seating fence. Mom has only taken me a couple times, but she has told me all about it.

You can take a free tour of the brewery every Saturday at 1pm. And mom said it is totally worth it to go see where all the awesome beers are brewed. Mom is a fan of their Legend Chocolate Porter and their Brown Ale.

Follow Me Dog Training LLC announced that the February Where’s Leinie? challenge was to find me at Legend Brewing Co! Congrats to Grady Beans for finding me! Where’s Leinie? February 2011

Support your local brewery if you can’t get your favorite Leinie!

Admittedly we all want to be winners, but sometimes it is an honor to have people vote for you and come up as a top dog! Recently there was a photo contest held by Premier Pet Products on Facebook. They choose 13 finalists and then had Facebook friends vote for their favorite. There were some really cool pictures and even I think the top two were pretty darn cool! Now all three of us are in the Premier  Photo Hall of Fame!

I love my Bouncy Bone!!!!

Premier has some really cool toys and stuff. I love their Bouncy Bone! Mom got me my first one at an IACP conference in Texas a couple years ago. I still have the ball rolling around somewhere…I let Frappy play with it sometimes.

So thanks to Premier for holding a cool contest! Thanks to all my friends that voted for me! And special thanks to my mom for training me so I could go out and do cool stuff like this!

Want to teach your dog to lend a hand….go train with Follow Me Dog Training LLC . You can also keep up with the business, Frappy and I on Facebook.

Frappuccino and Mom went to Bark in the Park night at the Diamond to see the Richmond Flying Squirrels play ball. They had a really good time seeing a bunch of Follow Me Dog Training LLC clients and dog friends.

I didn’t go. I’m not a huge fan of crowds and sitting around. Besides if there are balls and squirrels around I firmly believe that there should be some game of fetch or chase going on. Mom said Frappuccino did a good job.  Frappy said she enjoyed  licking the ears of the people sitting in front of them, meeting the owner of the team Lou DiBella, watching the game and licking mom’s beer bottle. I do want to say how much mom went on about how great all the Follow Me Dog Training LLC dogs were that night, mom was really proud of how they represented our company!

Mom reported back on the beer status at The Diamond,  and she said they had all the usual  Budweiser products and even Yuengling on tap. You could even get your beer at a place called The Budweiser Thirsty Acorn!

I guess we aren’t at a stadium in WI where they would have a Leinie Lodge set up, like where the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers play in Appelton WI. Or at Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers play. I know mom would have taken me if they had a Leinie Lodge set up at the Diamond!

I hope they do another Bark in the Park night at the Diamond. Sounds like good fun. Meanwhile mom and I can enjoy a frosty beverage watching a game on tv together…she got a really nice pint glass for us to share. Oh and you better believe that that is a Leinie’s Red in that glass!
