Frappuccino and Mom went to Bark in the Park night at the Diamond to see the Richmond Flying Squirrels play ball. They had a really good time seeing a bunch of Follow Me Dog Training LLC clients and dog friends.

I didn’t go. I’m not a huge fan of crowds and sitting around. Besides if there are balls and squirrels around I firmly believe that there should be some game of fetch or chase going on. Mom said Frappuccino did a good job.  Frappy said she enjoyed  licking the ears of the people sitting in front of them, meeting the owner of the team Lou DiBella, watching the game and licking mom’s beer bottle. I do want to say how much mom went on about how great all the Follow Me Dog Training LLC dogs were that night, mom was really proud of how they represented our company!

Mom reported back on the beer status at The Diamond,  and she said they had all the usual  Budweiser products and even Yuengling on tap. You could even get your beer at a place called The Budweiser Thirsty Acorn!

I guess we aren’t at a stadium in WI where they would have a Leinie Lodge set up, like where the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers play in Appelton WI. Or at Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers play. I know mom would have taken me if they had a Leinie Lodge set up at the Diamond!

I hope they do another Bark in the Park night at the Diamond. Sounds like good fun. Meanwhile mom and I can enjoy a frosty beverage watching a game on tv together…she got a really nice pint glass for us to share. Oh and you better believe that that is a Leinie’s Red in that glass!

So this time of year all I’m seeing are top 10 lists. Top ten favorite dog toys, top ten favorite doggy spas, top ten favorite dog names…etc. So of course I consulted with Mom we pulled together a top ten favorite beers list for 2009. Mom wanted to try them all again as I was making this list, I had to guard the fridge so she would be sober enough to help me type this out….

  1. Anything from the Leinenkugel Brewery!!!!!! This house isn’t picky, we like them all and so should you…or I’ll bit you….
  2. Guinness it isn’t just a beer to drink on St. Patrick’s day! Get someone to pour it right or be in awe of the widget in the draft bottles….how cool is the widget?!
  3. Gaelic Ale from Highland Brewing Company
  4. Pumpkinhead Ale from Shipyard Brewing Company
  5. 420 Extra Pale Ale from Sweetwater Brewery
  6. Longboard Island Lager from Kona Brewing Company
  7. Tusker Lager from East Africa Breweries LTD hard to find but brings back oh so many memories!
  8. Lucky Kat from Magic Hat Brewing Company Beer Kitty, Kitty!
  9. Yuengling Lager from Yuengling… their Black and Tan comes in a close second.
  10. Point Amber Classic from Stevens Point Brewery

There are a lot of good beers and Breweries out there. But one should always have a few of their favorites in the fridge for a rainy day….or a snowy day…or a hot day…or well any day that ends in y. Cheers and drink responsibly….

Mom said I could do a top ten list of my favorite dog toys next time…better start gathering and testing them out.

Come on, that ball has a purpose doesn't it?

Come on, that ball has a purpose doesn't it?

Last night our friend Erika came to visit for a couple days. We were all sitting around watching tv and I went to explore Erika’s stuff…she has a cat at home and I wanted to make sure the cat didn’t come visit as well. Guess what I found in a bag…a tennis ball..it was new and yellow and just what every malinois’ dreams are made of. Well, apparently she didn’t bring it for me. It made me wonder what other exciting things might be found in the bags Erika brought into the house.

When she sat down with another big bag, I thought for sure this one contained something for me, but instead she pulled out some weird stuff and then a ball attached to a string. But she wouldn’t throw it for me. Mom told me to knock it off and lie down, so I stalked Erika and the ball for awhile.

Apparently Erika was knitting, what a waste of a perfectly good ball.

Just a side note, Erika is in town because she and Renée are going up to Quantico National Cemetary in Virginia for an internment service for retired Marine Lt Col. Vinup. He lost a six year battle with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia. There is no cure for this form of Leukemia. Erika is running in the Yuengling Shamrock  1/2 Marathon  in Virginia Beach March 2009 to help raise funds for a cure. For someone who swore she would only run if being chased, this 1/2 Marathon is a big step for Erika and something that we should all consider supporting. If you are interested in making a donation to Erika’s team, go here for more information http://pages.teamintraining.org/va/shamrock09/evinup
